Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can cause a child to feel aggravated, and eventually hate going to school because of the challenges involved with it. There are methods in which you, the parent, can help orient your child into classroom activities without causing them stress.
If your kid is getting in school for the first time, it is imperative that you see to it the school has the ability to deal with a kid with ADHD, or at least has programs for them to take part in. You can discover this info by calling the school directly, or by calling the school board of your State or County. There are laws that have been implemented that schools need to follow concerning ADHD kids, learn what these laws are to be much better prepared.
As soon as you have found a suitable school, it is time to arrange a meeting with your youngster’s teachers to let them understand exactly what they should anticipate from your youngster and vice versa. Each youngster diagnosed with ADHD is different, and this has to be passed on to the educator in case she/he has more than one ADHD youngster in her class.

Some parents of ADHD kids create a chart or a sticker system to label things in order of which their child will need to help them cope much better.
An additional issue which can trigger conflict within an ADHD youngster, is the moving from class to class. It can confuse them and fluster them from the continuous movement. If the youngster has made a good friend in school, see if it is possible for them to be paired with said friend to go from class to class so there is less confusion.
The last, and most important thing is to be sure the child isn’t treated differently in front of the other children. This can be rather harmful to a child’s self-esteem, whether they have ADHD or not. If they are singled out, that makes them the center of attention, which children with ADHD do not deal well with.
Have the teacher either talk to the kid privately, or develop a way in which they can warn the child without calling too much attention to them. Having a child with ADHD in school is a challenge for sure, however, with the proper tools and communication with the school system, it doesn’t have to be traumatic for you or the youngster. Make the effort to relay your concerns, and prepare your youngster as much as possible for the experience.
